High-end hotel restaurants are about to take over Ibiza

Posted by August 08, 2018TravelLifestyleIbiza

Ibiza: Beauty encapsulated in an island. Ibiza has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Since tourism exploded on the island in the 60s, Ibiza has gone through a major transformation from a quiet Spanish island, in the shadows of it’s neighbour Mallorca, to a cosmopolitan fashion, music and food hub. This success has brought an influx of five star hotels bringing gastronomy levels to new heights.

Naturally we’ve tried them all, and here are our favourites!

Agroturismo Can Domo

Farm to table in an agroturismo hotel.  You will be greeted by a lovely and relaxed ambiance, an extensive wine list, homemade olive oil, and plentiful sharing plates.

This Ibiza food gem, which is also an ecological garden, is hidden away in the hills on the Carretera Cala Llonga (Km 7,6) and only seats around 20 to 30 people so we recommend to make a booking.

The location is a taste of the true ibiza – relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by olive trees and incredible campo views.

Los Enamorados

Los Enamorados located in the Northern most town of Portinatx is described as “a week long meditation retreat in a day”. Home to the island’s most secluded & beautiful beaches the North is covered with secluded coves and dramatic cliffs. In the kitsch holiday village of Portinatx  you’ll find the friendly and super cool South American inspired hotel and restaurant Los Enamorados.

The setting is postcard perfect with a view of the beautiful clear blue sea with it’s small fishing boats dotted around the small cala. It is well known for its chilled atmosphere, with all tables facing out to see to watch the beautiful north Ibiza sunset, and the boutique here is one of the best on the island – Ibiza at its eclectic best!

Izakaya at the heart of Sir Joan Hotel

Those into innovative and forward thinking cuisine should definitely get to know Izakaya. . Izakaya Ibiza is located in the modern Marina Botafoch on Paseo de Juan Carlos I overlooking the Dalt Vila  and Ibiza marina.

Presenting a modern and extravagant fusion of Japanese cuisine with South American influences dishes are served to share. In the daytime you can lounge in the sun on the sun loungers around the pool and the evening sees DJs setting the vibe with an eclectic selection of music from sunset throughout dinner.

Our tip: make sure you make time for a pre-dinner cocktail.

Vi Cool at Aguas de Ibiza

Close to the heart of Santa Eulalia in the north eastern part of the island you’ll find the hotel Aguas de Ibiza. Unbeknown to many a passer-by, on the roof floor you’ll find some of the best modern tapas in Ibiza from well known chef Sergi Arola.

Vi Cool is modern, stylish and extremely chilled with the very best views across the harbour and the town and out to sea with sleepy Siesta snuggled on the hillside with lights twinkling in the distance.

During All this, completed by the wonderful sky filled with starlight, and superb friendly and attentive service.

Tatel

Last but not least on our list is Tatel at the Hard Rock Hotel. Almost at the end of the Playa D’en Bossa the beach has a Miami vibe and the restaurant terrace looks out across the sea to Formentera in front.

You’ll always find a buzzy crowd here gearing up for a night out. The menu is a modern take on traditional Spanish food serving anything from oysters to Spanish potato salad with prawns to Ibicencan lobster. Great music,  fantastic service and beautiful art deco styling make for a great Ibiza restaurant experience.

Get in touch for any booking requests, we can also arrange transport and host you on the perfect itinerary for your group.
