Beach Playa de Muro

This long sweeping 6 km sandy beach in the north of the island has crystalline waters and a stunning backdrop of the surrounding mountains. The beach is in four clear sectors each with something different to offer. The closer you get to the S'Albufera National Park the quieter the beach becomes and it is backed by natural pine forests and sand dunes rather than hotels. Water sports and blue flag beach status makes this popular with families.

Dine Out Ponderosa Beach

This trendy beach club wasn't named the best beach club in Spain for nothing. Situated on Playa de Muro beach with the tables in the sand, this is strictly a shoes off and relax restaurant. Don't let the casual style fool you. They pride themselves in using local produce and seafood and paella are among the best you will eat. Every year they have three dishes on the 'solidarity' menu with the cost of the meal going to the charity. The service is second to none and Fernando (who also spins the decks on the terrace ) and his team, will ensure you are well looked after.
People come from far and wide for the Ponderosa experience, so booking is essential, especially in the high season.

Explore Cap de Formentor

Take the 20km drive from Port of Pollenca and climb the steep winding road with strange rock formations, cliffs protruding out into the sea and vegetation growing out of rocks. On the road there are various stopping points to take in spectacular views. On a clear day you can see all the way to Menorca. At the furthest northern tip is the lighthouse. EC recommends an early climb to watch the sunrise or at the end of the day to watch the sunset.
